Common client questions about therapy

  • How do you book an appointment?
You can book an appointment with me through one of two ways: 1. Email me at guleranamsw@gmail.com and I can book an appointment for you on Jane. 2. Book directly on Jane by clicking on the book an appointment button.
  • Do you accept insurance?
Some insurance plans cover the costs associated with seeing a Registered Social Worker or Psychotherapist. After our session, I will provide you with a receipt that includes all the information required to submit to your insurer for reimbursement. Social workers/psychotherapists do not typically do direct billing in Ontario. I recommend that you reach out to your insurer before our session to confirm whether my services are covered and eligible for reimbursement. You can provide your insurer with the following information: Gul-e Rana, Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist, OCSWSSW #: 843921
  • What type of payment do you accept?
E-transfer following the session is the preferred method of payment. Jane will email you with a receipt and instructions to process the payment after the session. Jane also accepts the following payment types: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, UnionPay. Arrangements can be made to use other payment methods such as cheque or cash.
  • How long will I have to do therapy before I start feeling better?
This varies for each individual and depends on your goals and purpose for seeking therapy. Some clients report feeling better and a sense of relief after speaking to a therapist just after a few sessions. However, effective therapy can be a long-term process and can take between 5-10 sessions or even longer.
  • What are your hours?
I provide varied options to fit the needs of my clients. If you require a specific time or day that you do not see available on my calendar, please reach out to me about it.
  • How long are therapy sessions and how much does it cost?
An individual session is one clinical hour and costs $130. Couple and family sessions are one clinical hour and cost $150. One clinical hour is 50 minutes of session time. The remaining 10 minutes are used to complete the client's progress notes. If you would like to book a longer session, please reach out to me about this.
  • Do you accept sliding scale clients?
Yes, I accept a limited number of sliding scale clients. Please let me know if you are in financial need before booking a session or during our consultation and I will provide you with more details.
